An Excellent Life

Christmas has been good.  And when I say good I mean very, very good.  Excellent.  When life is excellent it is also usually difficult, exhausting and outrageously joyful.  Yes, it has been all of that.

While the Christmas season is definitely ramped up from regular life, it's true that outside of the Christmas season I live an excellent life.  A life full of amazing people, profound joy, committment, love, adventure, frustration, loss and occasionally despair.

It's a life that's teeming with life.  Yup.  Difficult, exhausting and outrageously joyful.

Never, ever BORING.
Never.
Ever.

Sometimes I think boring would be fun.  Just for a day.  
But it isn't going to happen this decade.

Oh, well.  I'll just have to settle for excellent, difficult, exhausting and outrageously joyful.

A good life is all these things because we put out into the deep.

We love and love makes us vulnerable.  We give and giving makes us vulnerable.  If we did nothing, gave nothing, we are less likely to be criticized. We get criticized because we are doing something worth doing.  If we tried nothing, DID nothing, we would be less likely to fail.
We fail because we try.  

I've made many mistakes, and I'll make many more.  But an excellent life is worth all the awesomeness, pain and stupidness.
I mean me.
